In November 2002, the Pulitzer prize-winning Suzan-Lori Parks sat down and committed to writing a play a day for the next 365 days. This play cycle is called 365 Days/365 Plays. Epic Theatre Center was among the 600 theaters that joined a grassroots premiere of the plays in Atlanta, Austin, Chicago, Colorado, Greater Texas, Los Angeles, Minnesota, New York, The Northeast, San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, The Southeast, Universities (365U), Washington D.C. and the Western U.S.

Epic contributed to the Festival by bringing together a group of professional actors and students to perform "Week 20". The participating students responded to Ms. Parks' work by also writing and performing their own short plays written over seven days. The 365 National Festival was produced by Suzan-Lori Parks and Bonnie Metzgar.
